Michael Drozdek peacefully drew his last breath, with his children by his side, in the early morning hours of September 16, 2024 after a short battle with cancer.

His generous spirit and care for others was evident in the many family and friends who surrounded him.

Born September 30, 1953 in Bilje Croatia, Mike emigrated to Duluth when he was 16 years old.
From that point he worked hard to earn his way. He was a proud business owner, taking pride in welcoming all to the Shiskabar anchoring Lake Avenue and 1st Street.

He was also a skilled carpenter, making a living working with his hands and building, a trade carried on from his father through the generations.

Perhaps his most notable skill was his creative mind. Mike was always inventing things. His ideas are in safe hands with his children to hopefully bring to market one day.

As a hobby, Miko enjoyed playing pool around Duluth with family and friends. He loved sharing his knowledge of the game with everyone, telling colorful stories, and being a caring listener for his friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his father Gregor, mother Helena, brother-in-law Pero and many of his close friends and family members.

He is survived by his siblings: Maria Donovic, Adam (Francie) Drozdek, an Karolina Baker; His children: Greg (Julie) Drozdek and Ellen (Joe) Burke; Grandchildren: Judith, Jaynie and Jameson Burke along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring of 2025 at The Break Room in Duluth.
